Power industry veteran Peter G. Nepomuceno is making a big push into solar energy, with the goal of ramping up Raslag Corp.’s generation capacity by more than 10-fold in the next 10 years.

Raslag, one of the first solar energy developers in the country, is embarking on a major expansion that will scale up its capacity to 250 megawatts by 2032. This is in line with its goal to be a leading renewable energy company that provides reliable yet cost-effective clean power to its customers.

The company is seeking to complete three solar projects within five years in response to the growing demand for clean power in the country. These include the 18.01 MW solar RASLAG-3, which is targeted to start commercial operations by May; the 35.2 MW RASLAG-4 and a 60 MW solar facility.

These new projects will add to Raslag’s two existing solar power plants in Mexico, Pampanga which are running under the feed-in tariff scheme and are enjoying 20 years of guaranteed payment from the government with annual escalation in consideration of local inflation and foreign exchange.
